Beatrice
Beatrice is a microbiology major at Wagner College, studying to be a veterinary zoologist. She loves playing with all living things, especially cats and dogs. In her spare time, Bea loves doing what she does right here, playing with our patients and her pets.
Pamela
Pamela lives in Staten Island, New York. She graduated from Susan E. Wagner high school and is now attending the College of Staten Island in hopes of becoming a veterinarian in the future. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with her family, friends and surround herself with animals
Gabriela
Gabriela is an aspiring veterinarian who was born and raised on Staten Island. She graduated from New Dorp High School in 2017 and is now a biology major at the College of Staten Island. She hopes to learn as much as possible about veterinary medicine to one day help all kinds of animals, and the people who love them, during difficult situations.
Melody
Melody (Mel) has been a part of the AHG family since 2019. Her passion for veterinary medicine started at a young age while working on a farm during her summer vacations. She studied biology at Binghamton University where she learned about AHG through a friend. Mel is studying to become a certified veterinary technician and hopes to further her knowledge of animal care and hospitality. When she’s not at work or studying, you can find her reading a good book, hanging out with friends, or trying new recipes to cook for her friends and family.
Jake
Jake grew up in Staten Island where his dad was a professional dog trainer, which led to his love of animals. He was referred to AHG by his sister. He has a dramatic and funny Doberman named Loki who loves to be around people. In his free time, Jake enjoys playing basketball, reading, or hanging out with his friends.
Sidney
Sidney was born in Brooklyn and raised in Malaysia. She returned to New York to attend the College of Staten Island, where she is a senior. As a child, she wanted to become a veterinarian, and that hasn’t changed. Sidney’s two poodles, Mocha and Latte, live with her family in Malaysia, but she has a snail named Gary. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting with an 85-year-old friend.
Brittany
Brittany has been a veterinary technician at both of our locations since 2013. She has loved animals since she was a child and is living the dream caring for them. In her free time, Brittany loves reading, shopping and going on long walks with her two dogs, Penelope and Bernadette.
Sandra
Sandra grew up in Staten Island and has worked as a veterinary assistant at AHG since 2019. She is majoring in biology and animal behavior at Hunter College and plans to become a veterinarian. Outside of school and work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family (including her dog Jumper), reading and biking.
Rachel
Rachel grew up in Staten Island, has always had a passion for science, and is studying biology at the College of Staten Island. She has had fish and bearded dragons, but currently has a dog named Nyx. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exploring the city and skiing.
Amanda
Amanda is from Staten Island and joined AHG in March 2021 to get experience working in veterinary medicine. She is majoring in microbiology at Wagner College and plans to go to vet school one day. She has a miniature Pinscher named Spock whose favorite activities are eating all the treats he can get his paws on and sleeping by the fireplace. When not working, you’ll find Amanda at Wagner with her sorority and cheer team.
Marillyn
Marillyn grew up in Brooklyn and has loved animals from a young age. She loves spending time with her talking Huskie and silly cat. In her free time, she enjoys boxing and singing. One of her goals is to travel and help children and animals in need.
Lily
Lily lives in Staten Island and attends the College of State Island where she majors in biology and minors in philosophy. She is planning to pursue veterinary medicine after graduation. In her free time, she enjoys video games, roller skating and vegan cooking.
Justine
Justine has wanted to work with animals since she was a child, and she has been part of the AHG family since 2019. She is majoring in biology at the College of Staten Island to further her career in the veterinary field and is interested in zoology and working with wildlife. In her free time, she likes to travel, snowboard, go to the beach and most importantly, spend time with her chocolate Lab, Gracie.
Valerie
Valerie is an in-coming college student who can’t wait to begin studying veterinary medicine. Her love of animals started when she cared for her toy poodle Cookie and grew while working at AHG. Valerie speaks Mandarin and hopes to use this skill to help immigrants. She plans to attend vet school and hopes to open her own practice one day. In her free time, she enjoys cooking traditional Asian cuisine for her family and walking her dog by the beach.
Priyal
Priyal is a senior at Hunter College majoring in computational biology. She started working at AHG in 2020 because of her love for animals. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her puppy, Oreo.
Julia
Julia is from Staten Island and has dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since she was a child. She is currently majoring in biology at Hunter College and plans to go to veterinary school. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, working out and spending time with her dog, Teddy.
Celine
Celine lives in Staten Island where she attends Wagner College. After graduation, she plans to follow her dream of becoming a veterinarian and working in zoos. When not at work, you can find her with her two dogs Astro and Luna, at a museum, learning guitar or sleeping.
Aileen
Aileen is a student at the College of Staten Island majoring in biology. She plans to finish her studies at NYC College of Technology with a degree in radiology technology. She grew up with animals and has had a deep love for them for as long as she can remember. Cats, dogs, birds, chickens, you name it! Outside of work and school, she enjoys working out at the gym, spending time with her fur baby, Henny, and exploring NYC.
