Welcome to the official website for Animal Health Veterinary Group, your Staten Island animal hospital for high-quality pet care. Our two convenient locations (at 710 Castleton Ave and 2300 Hylan Blvd) make it easy for you to enjoy ready access to Staten Island vet services for your beloved animal friends. Our team of Dr. Michael Arpino, Dr. Lisa Sether and Dr. Tony Miele ensures that your pet is always in the hands of a skilled, experienced, compassionate Staten Island veterinarian, no matter which location you visit.
At our Staten Island vet clinic, we strive to serve as your animal health and wellness resource for life. But different pets have different needs at various stages of life, so we make a point of providing the widest possible range of services, from checkups that anticipate threats to your pet's well-being to prompt responses to emergency conditions. You can count on your veterinarian in Staten Island for:
Routine preventative care - The best way to deal with an illness is as early as possible -- ideally by preventing it from happening at all. We provide a number of routine but essential preventative services such as wellness exams, dental checkups and cleanings, administering pet vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping and pest/parasite prevention.
General diagnosis and treatment - We maintain a full array of diagnostic and laboratory resources to help us diagnose any health issues quickly and with the utmost accuracy. This enables us to prescribe the correct treatment. We can provide treatments ranging from medications to major surgery (and everything in between).
Emergency care - We know how frightening it is when your pet falls prey to an emergency such as poison ingestion, heat stroke, difficult labor, bloat, choking or traumatic injury. You'll feel a lot better knowing that your Staten Island veterinarian is standing by to administer emergency treatment that could save your pet's life. We offer emergency care ourselves during office hours, and refer our patients to a trusted 24-hour emergency clinic at all other times.
But as important as pet vaccines or emergency treatment undoubtedly are, Animal Health Veterinary Group is more than just a list of services; it's also the relationships we cultivate with our clientele. A family veterinarian is just as central to the lives of many families as the family doctor or dentist. We understand that, and we take it very seriously. Whether your pet is just a few weeks old or a "senior citizen," your Staten Island vet can always provide the necessary care while also providing you with valuable recommendations, insights, education and guidance for optimal home care. This commitment allows us to form meaningful, trust-based, lifelong bonds with our patients -- and with their owners.
If you're looking for the right veterinarian in Staten Island, your search is over. Visit either of our locations and meet and our dedicated staff in person!

I have been taking my dog here for two years now and I love this office! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We have seen both doctor's for numerous reasons from annual visits to staples and rashes, and I have to say I am impressed with them both. I never feel like they are rushing me out the door and they are very thorough with their explanations and instructions for care. They do a clinic for shots which is also awesome for the wallet and I believe they also give you a first time discount as a new patient! Great place, caring people!
